Woodstock Vermont with Kids- Montshire Science Museum

Need a fun stop halfway between Boston and Burlington, Vermont?  Kids need to stretch their legs on a road trip from New England to Montreal?  Want a fun kiddo activity during your winter ski weekends in Vermont, or your spring/summer/ fall Vermont getaway?  Montshire Science Museum is a great place for kids and adults and definitely worth a couple hours.

We'd spent an April long weekend in Woodstock, Vermont (blog post here!) and we knew that the weather forecast was WET on our last day, so we'd saved this indoor activity for the rainy day.  After breakfast and one last morning swim in the pool, we checked out of the hotel and hit the road toward the Montshire Science Museum, which is located just off I-91 about a half hour from the center of Woodstock.

We'd heard great things about the museum from friends and family who live in Vermont, so we were excited to check it out and were not disappointed.  We easily spent 2 hours there, and the kids had a blast making paper helicopters and rocketships, experimenting with bubbles, inspecting insects, playing with fog, making noise with various instruments and peeking at frogs and fishes.

As it was a cold and rainy day, we didn't get to check out the outdoor play area, which is supposed to be great.  we will have to stop by on our travels again in the future!
